Scar Chess 3D is free 3D war chess you play right in your browser – no download, no account. Two animated armies, the heroes of Mistvale and an army of skeletons, fight it out on a living medieval island: every capture is a little battle, a knight's arrow, a queen's lightning, a king's slam.

Fog of war chess (also called dark chess) hides the enemy: you only see the squares your own pieces can reach, so scouting and surprise attacks matter. Prefer classic chess? Switch the rules to Standard, or the style to the marble Classic set.

Play a friend online with an invite link, find an opponent with online matchmaking, play the computer, or pass & play on one screen. Choose from seven island maps – Mistvale, Desert, Frost, Ashlands, Highland, Dusk and the Ruins of Mistvale – and six board styles.
